The philosophy of reformation of agriculture sector

Developing a reform program in agriculture sector, we come from an understanding that the modernization process should cover both: the principle of the development of rural areas in general and each structural element of agriculture sector in particular agriculture, namely:

- Directly agriculture sector (agriculture sector core, subdivided into crop and livestock production).
This is the introduction of innovative technology projects that increase the implementation of the genetic potential of crops and livestock, grow ecologically friendly products.

- Industries providing agricultural means of production and carrying out technical and scientific services.
We are talking about the development of agriculture engineering in the region (processing, harvesting, irrigation, etc.), which can provide (when are used innovative technologies of development) needs of not the region only, but the whole country.

- Industries of storage, processing, and "making" of agricultural products to the consumer.
It is about creating the economic "core agriculture" because "a complete closed cycle of production" and efficient agricultural market (using agromarketinga) is a multiplier of economic growth.

With regard to rural areas - we offer a fundamentally new way of using the cluster model and capabilities of scientific and industrial cooperation.

Model of cooperation in the agricultural sector (manufacturing establishment of agricultural cooperatives) helps a lot faster and more effectively solve problems that require considerable logistical resources and bringing innovative scientific technologies - such as the provision of agricultural means of production (equipment, protective equipment, fertilizers, yielding varieties, productive rocks, etc.), storage and processing (creating large repositories of raw materials and food production), sales (wholesale markets), credit to households with mutual benefit through the creation of credit unions.

The cluster approach helps not only to bring together government, business, science and the public to develop the most effective strategy for rural development, but using a model of socio - economic cluster dynamically to solve all social problems of the territory through the implementation of successful economic projects. This approach would consider the sphere of education, health and culture as part of the production process (by which in a particular rural area appear physically and mentally healthy highly skilled professionals).

Thus, each rural area, thanks’ to the strategic partnership authorities, public and business defines its competitive advantage, creating a point of economic growth, which occur socio-humanitarian development of the area as a whole. That, in turn, leads to increased competitiveness of the area as a whole.

Tom, other industries those ouptut is included into the state’s overall domestic product are supplying / servicing agriculture (i.e., they depend on Florida ag in some sense). That is why the value that you cited for ag's contribution to FL GDP may be misleading. The economic links among the industries are accounted for in the publication that Lois referred to. And I think that this publication should be referenced in the post.
