European «Sahara» - the Oleshkovsky Sand

Kherson Region– is the only place, which can allow itself the thing which is impossible for any other European country – a walk in a desert. As there is the only desert in Europe here!

A huge territory of more than 2 thousand sq. km is waiting for you to surprise you with the world of untouched nature: an infinite sand dunes, abrupt bends of rapid descents and ascents, virtual absence of vegetation and an incredible heat. A scorching sand is playing and sparkling. It is unbelievably fine and easy: being flipped - sand will hang for the time motionlessly, throwing a shadow away on the ground.

Under the burning sun and self-coloured cloudless sky, among the unmoving landscape of hills, you will get under hypnotic influence of the desert, which will absorb your thoughts and emotions with its overall silence. And when you, touching the heated sand with your feet (the temperature reaches up to 75oC or 167oF), dreaming mirages, you will be ready to give up - the desert will present for you a meeting with a real oasis, which will cover you with a dense shade of a pine grove, and cool you with a cold water of a lake.

If you are ready to spend the date with a desert more actively - you are welcome to horse campaigns and an extreme-safari (bike -, auto -, motto tours).

But the fairy tale does not come to an end thereupon: leaving the desert, you can take a walk at the biggest forest plantations in the world, luxuriate at the sky-blue sea coast, plunge into the salty lake, curative properties of which do not yield to those at the "Dead Sea" or visit the biggest desert island in Europe…
